Friends and readers of Glioblastology, thank you for being on this journey with me for over eight years! Can you believe that? Some of you have been reading nearly that entire time! And others have recently followed along. It’s not lost on me that so many of you have allowed me into your inboxes and trusted me to take us to places of joy, sadness, distress, humor, anger, and all the feelings that come with long-term cancer survivorship. Thank you.
After deep consideration and goals for the future, I’ve decided to resume billing for paid subscriptions.
Some time ago, I decided to pause billing for all paid subscribers. I didn’t want cost to be a barrier to readers, especially for other patients and loved ones facing their own cancer experience. After deep consideration and goals for the future, I’ve decided to resume billing for paid subscriptions. This change will be effective as of January 1, 2025. If you had previously been a paying subscriber, your subscription will resume automatically. I don’t know a better way to notify everyone without simply posting a general note like this.
One goal driving this return to paid subscribers is my commitment to finishing Glioblastology, the book, in 2025. I am inviting your patronage in the form of a paid subscription to support me in completing this project. I will share draft chapters and more with paid subscribers, and together, we’ll work toward a lasting legacy of this blog in the form of a real-life book.
Candily, after a year of treatment for recurrence and the uncertainty surrounding treatment and its ability to control the tumor long-term, it’s important to me that I complete the book that I’ve chipped away at over the past couple of years. I’m inviting you to help me with this project.
I plan to continue regular posts available to all subscribers, but I am seeking to continue fostering community among those with the means and desire to chip in a few bucks each month as a sign of support to bring this goal into reality. If you are not, or have not been, a paying subscriber, you’ll also have a chance to upgrade your subscription in January.
I’ll post a more detailed plan with incentives for paid subscribers on January 1. I am more than happy to gift a paid subscription to anyone who is not in the best financial shape to pay. Just email me, and I’ll do what I need to do on my end.
I expect we may have a couple of hiccups along the way, and some folks may not read this note between today and the 1st, but we can work through any mistakes or refunds as they come up. Check out the following article to view all of your Substack subscriptions and their subscription type. Check your subscriptions.
Here is to more engagement and community building in 2025!
